Five stars who can set Euro 2016 alightPublished April 27, 2016
Euro 2016 is firmly on the horizon, with only forty-eight days to kick off at the Stade de France on June 10.
In the build up to the big event, we take a look at five players who could potentially go on to become the stars of the tournament in France this summer.
Michy Batshuayi (Belgium)
The Marseille striker has been in excellent form in Ligue 1 this season, and his performances have led to interest from a number of top clubs throughout Europe. If given the opportunity the 22-year-old could really shine in France.
Renato Sanches (Portugal)
At 18-years-old, it is expected that the midfielder will be the youngest member of Portugal’s squad. The starlet is reportedly closing in on a move to Manchester United in the summer, and the midfielder is certainly one to watch out for.
Dele Alli (England)
The 20-year-old has been in sparkling form in the Premier League this season, and after eye catching performances against the likes of France and Germany earlier this year, the midfielder has all the attributes to light up the tournament this summer.
Paul Pogba (France)
Fresh off winning yet another Serie A title with Juventus, the dynamic midfielder will have a huge say on whether the hosts can win this year’s tournament in their backyard. Bank on Pogba shining in France.
Aritz Aduriz (Spain)
At the age of 35 his inclusion could be seen as somewhat of a gamble by Spanish boss Vicente del Bosque, but after scoring over 30 goals in Spain this season, the striker should be starting in France. The veteran could be Spain’s very own Miroslav Klose this summer.
