The five-man shortlist to solve Arsenal striker crisis in the summer transfer windowPublished April 26, 2016
As Arsenal fans ponder yet another title collapse midway through a Premier League season, we look at five possible strikers that the Gunners could look to sign during the summer transfer window, in order to prepare themselves for yet another assault on the Premier League title next campaign.
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
The Real Madrid striker was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates last summer, and despite his recent off-field antics, rumours suggest Arsene Wenger will look to make another move for the French forward.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG)
The Swedish superstar has confirmed he is set to leave PSG this summer, and a move to the Premier League is thought to be a likely destination. At 34-years-old the striker could be seen as an attractive short-term option for Arsenal.
Odion Ighalo (Watford)
The Watford striker has enjoyed a brilliant debut season in the Premier League and the Nigerians all-action style has drawn admiring glances from clubs in England and in Spain. Arsenal are thought to be interested.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund)
The Gabon international has been in sparkling form in the Bundesliga this season. Arsene Wenger is known to be a keen admirer of the 26-year-old Dortmund striker, but it is thought that the forward’s preferred destination is Spain.
Michy Batshuayi (Marseille)
Arsene Wenger is thought to be a fan of the Belgian forward and could look to make a move to sign the 22-year-old this summer. The Gunners boss will most likely face stiff competition from clubs across Europe for the Marseille striker’s signature.
