Everton set to beat Liverpool and Chelsea to Premier League star
Everton are looking to make a splash in the summer transfer window and have reportedly seen off interest from Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Chelsea for one of the Premier League’s biggest talents.
The Toffees look set to seal a deal for Burnley’s Michael Keane and are reportedly confident that the former Manchester United defender would join them over the other interested clubs.
Keane has become a prominent figure in the Premier League, impressing in the top flight before being awarded with his first England cap and start in the recent international break.
Impressing through the break, it is safe to say that all eyes are now on the young defender who looks to be set for his big move during the summer window.
It is said that Burnley are now resigned to losing the talented defender but will look for a huge fee, likely to be upwards of £25m.
Should Keane join Everton, he would likely be the clubs starting centre-half with all of Phil Jagielka, Ramiro Funes Mori and Ashley Williams looking shakey throughout the season.
Couple that with recent injuries showing how fragile they are in that position, it is no doubt that Ronald Koeman will go all out for the player and the deal is set.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea are thought to be interested but according to reports, Keane would be unsure of a starting role at the London club while expectations at Liverpool would likely not be ideal for him either.
With the pressure off and a starting role extremely likely at Everton, it is certainly a possibility that we will see this deal done during the next transfer window.
