Chelsea on the verge of completing record £70m signing as Antonio Conte confirms likely dealsPublished August 4, 2016
Chelsea are on the verge of completing a club record deal to re-sign Romelu Lukaku according to the London Evenind Standard.
The 23-year-old forward left Stamford Bridge to join Everton, after a successful loan spell, back in the summer of 2014 in a £28m deal and has matured into a proven Premier League marksman and Antonio Conte is determined to welcome the Belgian international back to West London.
By all accounts Chelsea will pay £60m and will offer Loic Remy as part of a player plus cash deal that Ronald Koeman will struggle to turn down.
Lukaku netted 25 goals in all competitions last term and then starred for Belgium in the Euro 2016 finals and will offer the Blues a fresh option up front with Conte having already snapped up Michy Batshuayi in a £33m deal.
This chase has led many to believe that Chelsea are ready to sell Diego Costa, with a move back to Atletico Madrid mooted.
