Chelsea tie up highly-rated Ligue 1 star in early summer breakthrough
Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko worth £35million, per the Daily Mail.
Bakayoko, 22, is a wanted man this summer after a fine season with Monaco, which included reaching the Champions League semi finals and winning the Ligue 1 title.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made it clear he wants the Frenchman, who made his full international debut this season, to shore up his midfield.
Conte is keen to strengthen his squad early this summer, ahead of another tough campaign, which will this year include defending their Premier League title and competing in Europe again.
Manchester City and Arsenal are also believed to be among the clubs keen on signing Bakayoko, but the Blues believe they are in the driving seat to secure a deal. It would be a good betting tip to back him to move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are confident they will land Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko, while they are chasing Alex Sandro. #CFC (Telegraph)— Conteholic (@Conteholic) June 19, 2017
If he does sign, it will most likely clear the way for Nemanja Matic to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
