Chelsea in talks to sign £77m trio in busy transfer deadline day swoopPublished August 31, 2016
Chelsea have started the season in bright fashion with three successive Premier League wins but it appears this hasn’t stopped boss Antonio Conte from planning last ditch transfer deadline day additions.
Conte is said to be in negotiations to sign PSG defender David Luiz with the Blues looking to re-sign the former Blues fan favourite.
Some sources claim the fee for that move could be as high as £38m, still some way short of the £50m the French side paid for the 29-year-old two years ago.
Chelsea are also close to sealing a deal to bring in former Bolton man Marcos Alonso, that move said to be to the tune of £20m, with Conte looking to beef up his options at left-back.
The Fiorentina man started his career at Real Madrid and may be confident of making the left-sided defensive role his own, especially if Conte opts to switch Cesar Azpilicueta back to his preferred right-back option.
The final member of Chelsea’s apparent triple swoop comes in the form of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who is the subject of a £25m offer from the West London side.
Chelsea have attempted to trim their expansive squad ahead of such inclusions with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Marko Marin and Papy Djilobodji all leaving on permanent deals whilst Loic Remy, Patrick Bamford and a host of others have been sent out on loan deals.
