Chelsea star: "Never say never" on my future
Cesc Fabregas has cast some doubt over his Chelsea future, admitting he cannot guarantee he will stay at the club this summer, per Sky.
Fabregas, 30, endured a mixed campaign with the Blues despite winning the Premier League. He was often left out of the side by Antonio Conte at the start of the season, but stepped up later to register 12 assists.
The Blues ended the year in disappointing fashion, losing the FA Cup final to Fabregas’ former club Arsenal on Saturday.
Speculation has not decreased over his future, and while the Spain international said he may not force a move away, he also said nothing to suggest he would definitely be staying at Stamford Bridge.
“Not necessarily, but in football you can never say never,” he said after being pressed on whether he needs first team football to stay at Stamford Bridge.
“Anything can happen but I have always said I feel very, very loved by the fans here and every time I have played I have shown I can play at the top level in this team. It is all about trying to change the manager’s decision.”
