Chelsea set to launch audacious £60m bid for Real Madrid superstar, talks underwayPublished August 16, 2016
It appears as though Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is ready to act once more in the transfer market.
The Italian boss has had a rather quiet summer by the West London side’s usual standards, with Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante the only new arrivals at Stamford Bridge.
Whilst the signing of both these players will most likely be vital for the Blues, there has been a call from fans in West London for their side to spend big, in the wake of watching their Premier League rivals add new players to their squads.
According to reports from the Spanish press, Chelsea fans may get their wish.
Spanish outlet Sport, claims that the London club are interested in signing Real Madrid ace James Rodriguez this summer.
The report goes on to claim that Chelsea are willing to offer upto £75m for the Colombian’s signature.
James Rodriguez’s future in the Spanish capital has been under scrutiny for sometime, with the player seemingly frustrated with life at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Sport claim that that the player is ready to force a move away from Real Madrid, though it is worth mentioning that only a few short weeks ago, the 25-year-old publically declared his desire to remain at the club.
The Real Madrid star is certainly a wanted man, with PSG and Man United joining Chelsea in expressing interest in the midfielder.
Whilst we wait and see if this transfer story develops any further, the arrival of James Rodriguez at Stamford Bridge would certainly excite fans in West London.
