Chelsea set on bidding for Arsenal's top star this summer as they close in on Alexis Sanchez
Chelsea are reportedly moving closer to making an official bid for Alexis Sanchez.
The Arsenal player is out of contract come the end of next season, and it seems that rather than risking running down his contract, Arsenal are open to selling him should they miss out on the Champions League – and with Sanchez claiming he respects Wenger but would reassess his future come the summer, all signs point to Alexis leaving the club and Arsenal cashing in.
Ideally, they would like to sell him to a club abroad, with Bayern Munich leading the race, but it seems that Chelsea are becoming increasingly fond of the idea of landing Alexis – and will bid enough to make sure that happens.
Signing another forward who can also play as a winger would obviously raise questions over the future of both Diego Costa and Willian, both of whom have been heavily linked with the exit door this summer.
One thing is for sure – Chelsea would allow Alexis to stay in London, and also play for a club who will win titles and allow him the chance at the Premier League – something he has been denied thus far, and has made clear frustrates him.
