Chelsea close to sealing shock move for PSG star, talks underwayPublished August 24, 2016
It looks like Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been fooling us, all along.
The animated Italian had recently publically revealed his desperation and desire to add to his defence before the end of the summer transfer window.
Whilst the Blues are indeed making attempts to sign more defensive reinforcements, it also appears as though the West London club have been making inroads further up the pitch too, and could be about to pull of a surprise signing.
The man in question is PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi. The 29-year-old Frenchman, was due to complete a move to Serie A giants Juventus this summer, but that move has stalled due to the player’s salary demands.
The Italian champions have agreed a fee of around £21 million with Paris Saint-Germain for the midfielder and are now in contract talks with the 29 year-old. However, according to L’Equipe, negotiations have hit a brick wall due to the France international’s wages.
Other sources on social media now claim, that Juventus’ hesitation has cost them dearly, and it’s now Chelsea who are in talks with regards to signing the PSG powerhouse.
It’s believed that talks are underway, and that whilst the club’s are yet to agree a fee, the Blues are confident of pulling off the signing from under Juve’s noses.
