Chelsea flop's unbelievable strike settles Derby d’ItaliaPublished February 6, 2017
Juan Cuadrado’s rocket strike was the difference as Juventus secured a 1-0 Derby d’Italia win over Inter on Sunday evening.
The Chelsea flop, now an integral part of Max Allegri’s starting lineup, smashed home at the end of the first-half to settle Bianconeri nerves after a frantic opening period.
With 44 minutes on the clock, Miralem Pjanic’s inswinging corner was cleared to the edge of the box by an Inter defender, where it was met on the half-volley by the Colombian.
His fierce effort arrowed into the top corner and sent the home fans at the J Stadium wild.
Despite late Inter pressure, Juve held on to secure a crucial win and pull six points clear at the top of the Serie A table.
And given the nature of the decisive strike, it has to be assumed that Cuadrado’s stunning goal will be remembered for quite some time by supporters of the Scudetto holders.
