Cesc Fabregas: West Ham close in on shock move to sign Chelsea star in loan deal
West Ham are reportedly readying an audacious January move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas according to the Daily Mirror.
The 29-year-old Spanish international finds himself surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and is said to be a realistic Hammers target.
Indeed the Blues are even willing to cover a portion of the former Arsenal and Barcelona star’s £160k a week salary in order to complete a loan switch.
Fabregas has found life hard under new boss Antonio Conte, the Italian preferring to use Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante as his first-choice central midfield pairing, and may well be open to a fresh challenge but one wonders if a move to the East London side will prove tempting.

Conte has handed Fabregas just one Premier League start thus far this season and that came in Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat at Arsenal, when he was hauled off early in the second half, and it’s not likely to get any better for the experienced performer.
West Ham started the season poorly and despite losing just one of their last five Premier League fixtures Bilic’s side are still just above the drop zone and they will have to have significantly improved by the time the transfer window reopens if they are to have any hope of persuading Fabregas to move across London.
