Cesc Fabregas speaks about lack of playing time under Conte
Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is someone who was instrumental in their run for the title under Jose Mourinho, yet this season he’s been on the sidelines under Antonio Conte.
The Chelsea manager doesn’t seem to see Cesc as a starter, and despite another assist on the weekend against Hull City, he’s still spending the majority of his time on the bench, and that doesn’t look set to change any time soon.
Cesc was speaking about his assist record, and also the lack of time he’s been given on the field this season, and couldn’t hide the fact he’s unhappy about it.
He said: “I play football to win and enjoy. When I don’t play I’m sad and I don’t enjoy it but I’m happy the team is doing well. Football is my life, it’s everything to me.
Every time I’m on the pitch I try to do my best. In this game it went well again so I just need to keep going and show the manager I deserve to play”
Of course, comments like that may well concern Chelsea fans, who may be worried Cesc may leave the club to go somewhere that playing time is a certainty.
There would be a huge sum of money on offer from China, not to mention a host of clubs around Europe who would be keen on him.
