Brazilian legend makes huge prediction for young Manchester City star
Barcelona and Brazil legend Ronaldinho believes Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus could one day be named the world’s best player like his former teammate Lionel Messi, per Sky Sports.
Jesus has stolen the limelight since completing his £27million summer move from Palmeiras in January, scoring three goals in his first two starts for the club.
Now Ronaldinho, himself voted the world’s best in 2004 and 2005, says the future could be just as bright for the Brazilian teenager.
“Manchester City have a very special player with Gabriel Jesus,” Ronaldinho said, as quoted by The Mirror. “Maybe even, in the future, the best player in the world.
“At the moment it is Messi. I have always said I think one day it will be Neymar. But at 19, in the future, it can be Gabriel. He has all the abilities to make that happen.”
Jesus’ great start to life at City has put star striker Sergio Aguero out of the team and, subsequently, the Argentine’s future at the Etihad Stadium is unclear.
