Bayern Munich star wants Arsenal move: £34m wide-man ready to turn down Manchester United
Bayern Munich wide-man David Alaba is ready to turn down a move to Manchester United in preference to a switch to London to join Arsenal according to the Manchester Evening News.
The 24-year-old is most commonly used as a left-back by Allianz Arena boss Carlo Ancelotti but is also adept at filling roles further up either flank and is a player who has a great grounding of experience despite his relatively tender years.
The Austrian international has already racked up over 200 appearances for the Bavarian club he joined as a 16-year-old and has won a host of honours with the German giants, including five Bundesliga championships and a Champions League triumph back in 2013 and also has 50 national team caps to his name.
By all accounts a possible move to London interests Alaba and given Bayern Munich aren’t exacly flying as they are used to it is perhaps not entirely implausible that a move to Arsenal could occur.
Currently Arsene Wenger prefers to use Spaniard Nacho Monreal, over Kieran Gibbs, to fill his left-back berth but Alaba would offer a marked improvement on either option.
