Bayern Munich midfielder keen on Serie A switch
After months of speculation, it looks like Renato Sanches is finally on his way out of Bayern Munich.
In what was a difficult debut campaign in the Bundesliga for the Portugal international, Sanches fell out of favour with manager Carlo Ancelloti.
Now, however, Sanches says he would welcome an opportunity to play for AC Milan, making the Serie A outfit front runners for his signature.
Sanches, 19, told Germany’s Sport Bild that he needs to be playing more regularly and that he does not feel he will be given that opportunity at Bayern
“Personally I’m not happy with my first year here because I’m young and I would like to be playing more, so I would be glad to go to a club who can give me the possibility to play,” he said.
“Milan is an interesting option and if the opportunity were to arise, I would like it. I think that I would have more chance of playing in Milan than in Munich.”
AC Milan have already spent over €200m on 10 new players this summer and they’ve already revealed plans to make more signings before the market closes at the end of August.
Sanches, who still has four years remaining on his Bayern contract, is one of the names reportedly on their list of targets and they could make an offer to take him on loan.
“I’m currently on tour with my club in Asia but, as soon as we get back to Europe, we will have a meeting with the club and I hope we find a solution,” Sanches continued.
Manchester United are another club believed to be in the race for Sanches, but not prominent chasers like they were last summer. If you were betting on the Premier League, Mourinho’s men would look more tempting with additions in midfield ahead of the new season.
Sanches’ future is very much in the balance.
