Arsenal suffer blow in pursuit of £60m German superstarPublished August 30, 2016
Whilst Arsenal fans have had a good week, as far as their club’s transfer business is concerned, the latest news coming out of Germany will leave some Gunners fans rather unhappy.
It’s no secret that the North London side have been big admirers of German midfielder Julian Draxler over the years, with the club expressing interest in the player on many occasions in the past.
It was thought that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was still keen on a move for the 22-year-old, but the latest news coming out of Germany suggests that rumour is finally dead and buried.
According to German newspaper Kicker, French giants PSG are set to offer an astounding £64m, in a bid to prize the midfielder away from his club side Wolfsburg this week.
Whilst the Bunedesliga side would not want to lose one of their most coveted assets, Julian Draxler has made his desire to leave the Volkswagen Arena this summer public, and with an offer of £64m on the table, the German side may decide to cash in.
Sorry Arsenal fans, but it looks like you can add this to the list of rumoured signings which failed to materialise.
