Arsenal try to haggle as they chase £35m Newcastle United starPublished July 21, 2016
Arsenal are set to join an ever growing queue in pursuit of Newcastle United star Moussa Sissoko according to talkSPORT.
The 26-year-old impressed at this summer’s Euro 2016 finals and is sure to be on his way out following Newcastle United’s relegation to the Championship.
Sissoko is known to be a target for former Magpies boss Alan Pardew, who already has fellow French international Yohan Cabaye in his Crystal Palace set-up. Liverpool and Tottenham are also said to be eyeing up the versatile Newcastle United man.
Rafa Benitez has already brought in a number of new additions to help in his pursuit of an instant return to the top tier and the St James’ Park side may look to balance the books by selling Sissoko, who they value at £35m.
Prudent boss Arsene Wenger is only ready to offer £20m for Sissoko and as such a deal may not be in the offing.
Sissoko moved to Newcastle United in January 2013 from Toulouse in a bargain £1.5m deal and he has gone on to make 133 appearances, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Newcastle United look set to cash-in on Dutch international Giorgino Wijnaldum, who is set to complete a £25m move to Liverpool later today.
