Arsenal ready to extort Premier League side over star player
Arsenal are ready to get as much money as they possibly can for Alexis Sanchez – and know it will be Manchester City who buy him.
The Sanchez saga rolled on last season and it seemed he could move abroad, but this summer it became abundantly clear he wanted a move to Manchester City in order to link up with Pep Guardiola.
That of course means Arsenal are faced with selling one of their best players to a domestic rival again, and all the while they usually struggle to land players as well.
This summer things have been different with the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, yet it seems that while that is enough to keep Mesut Ozil, it will not be enough to keep Alexis.
The player demanded wages of £400,000 per week, and that’s being seen as a way to engineer a move and make sure it’s City he ends up at, with Arsenal now looking for a fee of around £80 million for the player – according to the Daily Mirror at least.
City as we know, have plenty of money, but to pay such a high price for one player who isn’t exactly a spring chicken anymore may be too much for even them, leaving Alexis and Arsenal to spend at least another six months together.
