Arsenal given massive boost in bid to sign £59m youngster: Gunners target looks set for transfer
Arsenal have long been linked with an interest in German international and according to the Daily Mirror the North London side’s chances of completing the move in the near future.
23-year-old World Cup winner Draxler is often linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and Wolfsburg Sporting Director, and former German international forward, Rudi Voller has confirmed a sale is possible.
When discussing the possible transfer, and in relation to a £59m bid from PSG that was turned down over the summer, Allofs stated;
“We’d evaluate it differently now and maybe give our approval the next time.”
Arsene Wenger is known to court Draxler and the creative attacking midfielder is a player who very much suits the French international’s ethos.
Wolfsburg are apparently unhappy with Draxler’s attempts to engineer an exit from the club he only joined just over a year ago and may well be ready to accept strong offers for the former Schalke man.
Draxler has racked up over 200 top level appearances and has 27 national team caps to his name and would surely jump at a chance of a move to Arsenal.
The presence of national team colleagues Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Shkodran Mustafi may also be a factor that aids a move and perhaps Wolfsburg would accept less than the sum PSG offered over the summer in order to complete a quick sale.
