Arsenal enter race to sign Italy's next big thing this summer
Arsenal have joined Juventus in the race to sign highly-rated Fiorentina midfielder Federico Bernardeschi this summer, according to Calcio Mercato.
The 23-year-old has become a vital part of the set up in Florence since making his debut in 2013, earning rave reviews for performance in Serie A and seven caps for Italy since his first call up last year.
Bernardeschi is one of a number of young players pointing to a bright future for the Azzurri, and he has attracted interest from right across Europe, with the report claiming Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also tracking him.
But the Gunners and Juve are said to be at the front of the queue for his signature. For Arsenal, though, doubts have been cast over the future of boss Arsene Wenger and that uncertainty could impact their summer transfer plans.
But with both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil’s futures also up in the air, the Premier League outfit could be on the lookout for attack-minded reinforcements.
