Arsenal already in talks with potential Sanchez replacement
Arsenal are plotting a £50million swoop for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette should Alexis Sanchez leave the club this summer, per the Daily Mirror.
Lacazette, 26, scored 37 goals for the French side this season, as they reached the Europa League semi finals. The Gunners have been linked with him in the past, and are also said to be interested in Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
But the report claims Arsene Wenger has met with Lyon to discuss a deal, which could see the striker earn over £200,000 per-week in wages.
It seemed as though the Frenchman was favouring a move to Atletico Madrid, with his international teammate Antoine Griezmann set for a move to Manchester United.
A transfer ban has knocked back any developments on both deals, meaning Arsenal are now in the driving seat.
But it would depend on Alexis Sanchez’s future, with the 28-year-old stalling on a new contract. His existing one expires next summer, and Manchester City are believed to be waiting in the wings.
