Antoine Griezmann gives fresh update on his future amid Man United links
Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann has given a new update on his possible move to the Old Trafford side during the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman, who has been the subject of intense speculation during the current season, certainly is not ruling out a move to Manchester United.
Speaking on a French TV show, the player did refuse to rule out a move before explaining that a move to Manchester was 6/10, ten being the most likely, zero being the least likely.
This could certainly be seen as a big boost for Jose Mourinho’s side as he looks to bring in some quality firepower up front with Zlatan Ibrahimovic unable to feature until way past his contract runs out, specifically not until 2018.
With that the club only really have Marcus Rashford as an able striker and will likely have to move for a strike partner during the summer window that opens in July.
Griezmann would certainly provide exactly that, with yet another very impressive season with Atletico Madrid both in the league and the Champions League.
It is thought that a deal would cost around £85m in what could be the players’ release clause, so a deal is not easy as expected.
With a fee coming very close to Paul Pogba’s world record fee, it is likely that Manchester United will consider all options before deciding if they want to pursue a huge deal for the impressive Frenchman.
His personal relationship with Paul Pogba could also prove pivotal in any deal this summer.
