Arsenal fans, it’s not done yet.
Reports from the British press over the last week had suggested that the North London club had agreed new contracts with star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, which would see both players committing their long-term future at the Emirates.
Whilst it’s believed that Mesut Ozil, is close to agreeing a new contract, a report coming out of The Mirror, claims Alexis Sanchez is playing hardball with Arsenal over his new deal.
The report claims that the Chilean forward wants an extra £35,000-a-week in order for him to renew his Arsenal contract.
The 27-year-old attacker’s current deal expires in 2018 and the Gunners are keen to tie him down to a new one.
During the summer, their had been reported interest in Sanchez, from Italy, with the likes of Juventus and Inter keen on a deal to sign the forward.
But Arsenal refused to entertain any bids for their star player, and will now be keen to ensure they agree a new deal with Sanchez as soon as possible.
