AC Milan to offer out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder escape route?Published November 21, 2016
AC Milan are plotting a surprise move to take Jack Wilshere to the San Siro this summer, according to reports.
Currently on loan at Bournemouth, the technically gifted midfielder has seen his first-team chances at the Emirates Stadium limited by a series of injuries, with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin excelling in his absence.
The writing appeared to be on the wall for the 24-year-old this summer, when Arsene Wenger chose to further strengthen his midfield options by signing Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach despite Wilshere returning to full fitness.
The Daily Star claims that the England international is now aware that his time in north London is up, and is already eyeing up his next move, with AC Milan amongst those keen on acquiring him during the close season.
Vincenzo Montella’s upwardly mobile side were one of the clubs interested in bringing Wilshere to Italy over the summer- only to be pipped by the Cherries to his signature- but retain an interest in acquiring him on a permanent deal.
The Star writes that Rossoneri chiefs have already intimated their desire to acquire the player to his representatives, with the technically gifted midfielder thought to be seriously contemplating a move to Italy.
Given his skill-set and the way fellow England teammate Joe Hart has adapted to Serie A, such a transfer could well spark something of a renaissance in a player who has for so long flattered to deceive as far as his huge potential is concerned.
