The sighting of a private jet as a 17-year-old can be overwhelming, right? Not to mention when it’s for you…

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s Premier League encounter between Manchester United and Arsenal, Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed what made him choose Arsenal over Manchester United as a teenage sensation.

When applying his at Cardiff City, Ramsey picked up interest from Arsenal and Manchester United but it was Arsene Wenger who apparently made him feel more wanted.

But was it the right move? Ramsey thinks so despite taking him six years to win a trophy at Arsenal, and is yet to lift a Premier League title.

“I went up there [Carrington] to see the facilities and I went to see Arsene Wenger,” Ramsey told Sky Sports.

“He did a lot to try and get me to this club. As a 17-year-old, flying out on a private jet to his hotel [in Switzerland for Euro 2008] was surreal but I think I made the right decision.

“I just felt a bit more wanted by Arsenal and by the boss.”
