Portugal v Austria Free Bets | Euro 2016

Austria More Than Capable Of Upsetting Odds Against Portugal.

In theory this should be the game that decides who ultimately finishes top of Group F of the Euros, particularly if results in the opening games went as anticipated by Euro 2016 betting tips.

Portugal appear to have a few decent young players coming through, but there always seems to be a huge over-reliance on Cristiano Ronaldo and that perhaps in turn leads to other players failing to step-up.  They were hugely disappointing at World Cup 2014, despite their historic and linguistic links with Brazil giving them what appeared to be an added incentive.

Austria’s key men are David Alaba, Julian Baumgartlinger and Zlatko Junuzović and if they can set the tone in midfield, the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Marc Janko could benefit further forward.

There’s not a lot of relevant history between the two teams to go on, with their last meeting being over 20 years ago.  The vast majority of earlier games appear to have been low-scoring and tight, with the one exception of Austria winning 9-1 in a World Cup qualifier in 1953.  It’s probably safe to presume that isn’t going to happen on this occasion.

The Portugal v Austria betting odds certainly favour Portugal pre-tournament, but Portugal look one of the least convincing of the group favourites and it wouldn’t be a great surprise were this match to provide a minor upset.  Austria sauntered through qualification and, if they can keep Ronaldo relatively quiet, will fancy their chances here.

Backing Austria on the Asian Handicap with any Portugal v Austria free bets certainly looks worthy of consideration as things stand, although any upsets in the earlier group games would need to be taken into consideration.
